Aluna — Privacy Policy

Aluna is a mobile app that offers an astrology, tarot and personal awareness experience. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over that data. By using Aluna you accept the practices described here.

1 In short

We use your birth details (date, time, place) to personalise your readings.
For AI-assisted readings, your birth details and the questions you ask are sent to Google Gemini for processing.
We do not sell your data and we do not market it to third parties for advertising.
You can have your account and your data deleted at any time (see Section 7).

2 Data we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we collect the following data:

Location: Aluna does not collect background or continuous location. The city you enter as your place of birth is converted into geographic coordinates for the sole purpose of calculating your chart.

3 How we use the data

To produce and display personal astrology, tarot and transit readings.
To prepare personalised answers to the questions you ask the advisors.
To manage your Premium and credit entitlements.
To send the daily / weekly notifications and reading-ready alerts you have set up.
To keep the app secure and to prevent abuse and errors.

4 Processing with artificial intelligence

Astrology and tarot readings are produced using the Google Gemini artificial intelligence model. When you request a reading or an advisor answer, your birth details, the question you asked and the relevant conversation context are sent to Google's Gemini service for the sole purpose of producing that answer.

AI readings are intended for entertainment and personal awareness; they are not a substitute for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.

5 Who we share the data with

Aluna does not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the app, under their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase — authentication, data storage (Firestore), notifications (FCM) and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
Google Gemini — AI-assisted reading generation (Section 4).
RevenueCat — subscription and purchase verification.
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — converting your place-of-birth name into coordinates.

We may also share data with the competent authorities where a legal obligation requires it or where it is necessary to protect our rights.

6 Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this policy. When you have your account deleted, your personal data is erased from our systems within a reasonable period; records we are legally required to keep are the exception to this.

7 Your rights and choices

You have the following rights over your data:

Access and correction — you can view and update your profile and birth details from inside the app.
Deletion — you can request the deletion of your account and your data.
Notifications — you can turn notifications off from the app settings or from your device settings.
Objection / restriction — you can object to your data being processed in certain ways.

8 Security

To protect your data we take reasonable technical and administrative measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access restrictions. No method is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices to protect your data.

9 Children's privacy

Aluna is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you become aware that a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes we will give notice inside the app or on this page, and we will refresh the "last updated" date at the top.
